BYD Flash Charging explained: up to 1,500 kW charging

BYD introduced Flash Charging on 5 March 2026 at a conference in Shenzhen, China. It is a high-power DC fast-charging network with a maximum power delivery of 1,500 kW, backed by on-site energy storage.

Where is it available?

So far the network serves China, Europe, Indonesia and Malaysia. BYD has not confirmed Flash Charging stations for Australia.

Why it matters for rideshare drivers

Charging time is downtime. A driver who can add most of a battery's charge in minutes spends more of the shift earning. If ultra-fast charging reaches Australia, fully electric cars (the only cars eligible for LEFKO EKO) become even easier to drive full-time.
